Last weekend, we went to Chicago. Chelsea and I went to see Micheal W. Smith and Steven Curtis Chapman and the boys went along for the pool. On Sunday we took our crew and the neighbor's crew to Musuem of Science and Indrustry...What a cool place, wish it was closer and we could go back

Chicago...weekend
Cross Country
On top of soccer, Chelsea also participated in Cross Country. Her best time of the year was 14:09 which earned her a 9th place finish. She participated in the state meet and finished 25th for her age. She was very good, but not sure if she liked the five days of practice. During these few months, she also tried out for Swing Chior and made the choir, and ran for student council rep and you guessed it...She won! SO know we are taking her to school three morning a week at 7:25.
Soccer, Soccer and More Soccer
So I haven't blogged in awhile...this would be the reason, three soccer playing kids...

British Soccer Camp
Baseball
We have been spending several evenings watching Dylan play baseball, and Andrew playing T-ball. Dylan has one all but one game and has been hitting really well. It has been fun watching him play. Andrew just started T-ball and he likes to hit and fight for ball when it is hit. He caused a collision going for a ball that wasn't his. Here are some baseball and T-ball pictures...
Omaha Nebraska Mom's Trip
We took a trip to the Zoo. We went with 4 moms, and I took half of the kids!!! We spent Tuesday afternoon at an indoor waterpark, then found our hotel. The next day we spent the day at the Omaha Zoo from the time they opened until it closed. It was super cool. That night we went to the Amazing Pizza Machine, kinda of like the Fun City Arcade and a pizza buffet mixed in one. Then the next day we went for breakfast and headed home for a baseball game. It was a little tiring at times 8 kids and no dads, but it was fun to spend time with some old and new friends!

We have enjoyed soccer games, began baseball practice, chorus concert, church concert, Relay for lift and last but not least my daughter has turned 12. I can't believe it, it seems like she was just born. My baby, he has grown up too, graduating from preschool and headed to kindergarten in the fall.

Soccer
This weekend we had three soccer games, one for Dylan and two for Chelsea. They did not winning games, but they played well. Chelsea played the entire game both days and did great! Dylan played foreward and took a couple shots on goal. Dylan is playing two years up and it amazes me how well he does, I was very leary, but the coaching director felt he would be fine, so I let him play. He does a great job.

Been awhile
Wow it has been awhile since I posted...This weekend was awesome, the reason everything was cancelled and we got to do whatever we wanted all weekend. I was looking forward to three soccer games on Saturday, but rain prevented that from taking place and besides Saturday was freezing. So, practice were canceled on Friday, we got to go see Nim's Island. It was very good. Then Emily came to spend the night. On Saturday, I slept in past 9:00 a rarity around here. Then the kids played all day and concluded with a play date with friends. Sunday we went to church, I got a nap, played Uno with Andrew and Memory...That kid is good at Memory, he beats us everytime and we don't try to let him...What's the deal. All in All a great weekend!

soccer
Chelsea participated in a tournament this weekend in Iowa City at the Hawkeye Bubble,
They played 4 games and won 2 out of 4. She played in most of the games most of the time. She has come a long long way. Thier team has always been the underdogs, but with new coaches, and a lot of hard work, they are catching up to a lot of teams. They are so fun to watch. I love soccer, because she loves soccer. It hurts when she is pulled out because she so desparately want to play, every minute, every game. It was fun. She also had a game Tuesday which they won...as well, waiting for warm weather and mornings, afternoon and evenings watching soccer and a little t ball and baseball. Can' wait!

Andrew is 5!
Andrew...my youngest has turned five. I feel as though it was yesterday he was born. He is my stubborn child. The one that questions everything. He is very verbal...not always in a good way. He is passionate about building. His teachers claim he will be an architect. He is strong, defiantly able to hold his own against his siblings. He is smart, probably smarter than his parents. He is mine and I love the energy and joy he brings into our home...and he is going to school in just six short months...simply unbelievable.

My stairway
I finished my stairwell on this chilly day. I attended an Uppercase Living party and bought this saying. "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away. " I plan over time to fill both sides of the staircase of moments that have taken our breath away. I think it is cool! Let me know what you think! Thanks Deanna for helping me with the saying!
Lazy cold Saturday
Today was great! Nothing to do, nowhere to go...We ran to blockbusters. The boys rented games...Haven't seen them since and Chelsea and mom got a movie! It will be quite sometime before a get a day with nothing on the calendar.

Our school nights blur one into the other around here. Tonight Dylan had swimming, Chelsea had soccer and Andrew just gets towed around. Joe cooked supper for the second night in a row...it is his New Year's Resolution for this year. I wish he also decided to clean the kitchen each night as well...Some pictures of a week night. Yes, Andrew is using the broom as a weapon...Don't worry Dylan uses the Swiffer!

Swim and trees
Today we spent the day at Carver Pool! The Chelsea and Dylan swam for the first time since getting thier tonsils out. They did great. Chelsea dropped her freestyle time by 8 seconds...and Dylan dropped 7 seconds off his backstroke. After a nap, a trip to Country Kitchen and finally one tree is dismantle and down! One more to go tomorrow...but this one is not real! So no pine needles, to mess with!

First Day Back
Today was the first day back to school...too soon! I would have preferred to wait until Monday! I made it through, then came home to lasagna compliments of Joe and Papa Murphy's. Reviewed Awana verses....got the kids dropped off and headed to the Iowa Game fully expecting a huge loss! At halftime it was tied and I was shocked!!! At the end we lost by 3 miserable points, but the game was awesome!!! 8 three point baskets in the last 2 minutes of the game and I am excited about Iowa Basketball!
